Why Brisbane’s imports could be the best in the NBL

Cam Gliddon believes the Brisbane Bullets’ new import trio of Javon Freeman-Liberty, Jaylen Adams and Casey Prather could be the best in the NBL.

The Brisbane Bullets begin their NBL25 campaign in New Zealand on Friday night, giving fans their first real glimpse of a new-look side stacked with talent.

With Javon Freeman-Liberty, Jaylen Adams and Casey Prather leading the way, former 300-gamer Cam Gliddon believes the Bullets may boast the best import trio in the league, and one of the most exciting groups in the competition.

“That guy (Javon Freeman-Liberty) is a bucket. I think as a pair (with Jaylen Adams), as a combo… along with Casey Prather, they may have the best import three in the league,” Gliddon said on NBL Now.

The Bullets enter a new chapter, beginning with new head coach Stu Lash and some big player signings from this off-season.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how they go,” Gliddon continued.

“They’ve had a few injuries and a lot of, you know, personnel and head coaching changes over the past six, seven years.

“(I) would just love to see how a stable Brisbane Bullets team goes.”

One of those major changes comes in the signing of former league MVP, Adams, who made headlines in the off-season by moving from Sydney up to the Bullets.

“He’s a beast,” Gliddon added.

“He’s a strong point guard with the ability to do anything on the floor that he wants.

“I’m sure he’s got some personal battles he wants to overcome, and he wants to be the man. And there’s no better way to be the man than your running buddy being (Javon) Freeman-Liberty.”

While Adams and Freeman-Liberty may be the headline act, it’s Prather who Gliddon believes is ready to pick up where he left off last season.

“He’s healthy… I think he’s going to be that Casey Prather we all remember back in the United and Perth Wildcats days. Only playing a bit more at the four, which I think provides him an even better advantage.”

The Bullets take on New Zealand at Spark Arena on Friday night, with tip-off from 5.30pm AEST, live on ESPN.
