Bullets, Freeman-Liberty agree to mutual release

The Brisbane Bullets and Javon Freeman-Liberty have mutually parted ways.
The Brisbane Bullets have announced that they have agreed to a mutual decision to part ways with Javon Freeman-Liberty.
The club said that the 25-year-old sustained a hamstring injury that was set to sideline him indefinitely and now he will head home to "continue his recovery and focus on his mental wellbeing."
“The wellbeing of our players always comes first and we are fully supportive of this outcome,” Bullets CEO Mal Watts said.
“We are grateful for Javon’s contribution to the club and wish him all the best.”
Freeman-Liberty made an instant impact in his first pre-season game at the CODE Sports NBL Blitz, where he put up 27 points and excited fans with his potential to be one of the top imports in the league.
Head Coach Stu Lash commended Freeman-Liberty for the way he handled the situation.
“We are grateful for Javon’s contribution to the club and wish him all the best.
“We are appreciative of how open the communication has been, and we will continue to support him as he takes this time for himself,” Lash said.
While the Bullets added that they will provide an update on their roster move in the coming days, Freeman-Liberty was thankful for his time in Brisbane and with the club.
“I enjoyed my time in Brisbane. I will always appreciate the support I have had here and I will be cheering the Bullets on from afar.”
