Talking points
MVP showdown
Fresh off an outstanding tournament at the FIBA Asia Cup, which was highlighted by a 30-point effort in the gold medal game, Xavier Cooks looks ready to dominate. The Kings power forward will be relied upon once again to produce at a high level, for the Kings to get back to the mountain top.
For Brisbane, they have their own MVP star in Adams who could be back to his very best for his new club.
Javon brings the buckets
The Bullets may have unlocked their next scoring sensation in Freeman-Liberty.
The explosive combo guard lit up July’s Summer League, leading the Chicago Bulls in scoring and showcasing his ability to pile on points from anywhere on the floor.
Galloway’s time to shine
It’s been a challenging past year for Jaylin Galloway, after his NBA dreams were halted, before a serious shoulder injury brought a premature end to his NBL campaign.
But Galloway’s fortunes are starting to turn, with a huge NBL1 season, followed by winning MVP honours at the FIBA Asia Cup with the Boomers. If he can get a clear run at it, the 22-year-old is like a brand new signing for Brian Goorjian.
