‘Keep it behind closed doors’: Experts weigh in on Harrell, Davis feud

NBL experts Damon Lowery and Pete Hooley have shared their views on the growing tension between Kendric Davis and Trezz Harrell, adding more intrigue ahead of Adelaide’s clash with Sydney on October 11.
The fallout from Kendric Davis’ controversial exit from Adelaide has continued, with a number of NBL experts weighing in on the issue.
During Monday’s NBL Overtime episode, both Damon Lowery and Pete Hooley commented on the bubbling beef between former Sixers teammates, Davis and Montrezl Harrell.
“Kendric is a young dude, and he should be keeping these things behind closed doors, but he hasn’t,” Lowery said.
“He might be one of those guys who needs to have a chip on his shoulder as a way to help get him going.
“That’s okay, but I don’t think he should have gone public with it [the comments], and I’m glad Trezz came out and said what he said, because you can’t misrepresent what actually went on in the locker room.
“Trezz is there to defend the locker room and defend what all those guys know, but he’s too professional to air the dirty laundry like that.
“Honestly, if I’m the Sydney Kings and Brian Goorjian, I’d prefer KD to concentrate on gelling with his new teammates and proving that he’s an NBA-ready talent, as they don’t need any other distractions.”
Hooley echoed his colleague’s comments, saying this spice highlights the great personalities the NBL has this season.
“This is not the first time we’ve heard from KD on this issue, speaking on how he didn’t like how things went down when he made the move to Sydney,” Hooley said.
“Honestly, from the outside looking in, I’m sure everyone in Adelaide believes they could have done things differently last season.
“The bottom line for me, though, is that we have some great personalities in this league, and they’re two of the best talents we have, so I love that we’re getting this sort of stuff [theatre].
“Everyone was already going to watch that game [Adelaide vs Sydney on October 11] already but these comments are going to make it even more fun to watch."
Speaking to NBL Media last week, Harrell said Davis' comments about being 'treated bad' by the 36ers were off the mark.
“Stop being like a bitter ex, ‘oh they did me wrong’ … nobody did KD wrong and I’m here to tell you that. Nobody did KD wrong. He did himself wrong,” Harrell said.
