EuroLeague star praises Cotton ahead of historic clash

Ahead of their Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament clash, Panathinaikos BC star Kendrick Nunn has praised five-time NBL MVP, Bryce Cotton.
With just days remaining until their history-making Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament clash at Qudos Bank Arena, former NBA star Kendrick Nunn has praised five-time NBL MVP Bryce Cotton.
During Panathinaikos BC's training session as Melbourne's CourtSide, the 211-game NBA veteran outlined how excited he and his Greek outfit were for their clash with Cotton's Adelaide 36ers.
"You don't see guys become five-time MVPs, so I have a huge amount of respect for Bryce," Nunn said.
"He's doing a hell of a job here in this league.
"It's going to be an interesting game, to see a EuroLeague club come here and take on an NBL team, in front of their competition's fans.
"We're looking forward to it - it should be a lot of fun."
Echoing Nunn's thoughts was three-time NBL champion Bryce, during a recent interview with SEN Adelaide's Breakfast Show.
"[Sunday] is going to be a big test for us and although they don't count in the wins and losses column, the game is going to be very intense - which is how they're accustomed to playing," Cotton said.
"It's a great measuring stick for us [to compete against a European powerhouse like Panathinaikos] and help ensure there's no rust come our first real game on October 28 [versus Brisbane]."
Panathinaikos will first play Serbia's KK Partizan, on Thursday night at John Cain Arena, before Sunday's Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament double-header, which also features the Sydney Kings and Partizan.
