The Kings have signed Sydney product Hunter Goodrick as an nominated replacement player.

The Sydney Kings have boosted their big man stocks by signing Hunter Goodrick as a nominated replacement player.

Following the long-term injuries to Keli Leaupepe (knee) and Jason Spurgin (foot), the Kings were on the lookout for front-court reinforcements and decided to go with Sydney product Goodrick, after impressing during training and the club’s recent closed-door game against Illawarra.

Starting his career with the Norths Bears, Goodrick went on to represent Australia at a junior level before playing college basketball in the United States at both the University of South Dakota and California Baptist University.

Most recently, the 25-year-old forward averaged 17.2 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3 assists per game for the Norths during their 2025 NBL1 East campaign.

CODE Sports is also reporting the harbour city-based club is continuing to search for another big man – ultimately a third import - on top of securing Goodrick as a rostered player.

The Kings will play KK Partizan during Sunday’s Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament at Qudos Bank Arena before hosting the Cairns Taipans in their season-opener on September 28.
