Josh Tomasi has departed the Tasmania JackJumpers to pursue opportunities abroad.

The Tasmania JackJumpers have announced they have released development player Josh Tomasi from his NBL24 development player contract.

The JackJumpers initially re-signed the 21-year-old centre to a contract extension, following his sole appearance in the NBL last season, but have allowed him to pursue further opportunities in Europe.

“Josh has been approached by clubs in European leagues after a number of great performances for his home country, Malta, in the Small Nations Games, and in the NBL1 recently” Tasmania Co-CEO Jorrick Chivers said.

“After much consideration, he has decided that he wishes to pursue these opportunities, which is understandable, and we wish him all the very best. We will watch his progress with keen interest.”

Tomasi is the second JackJumpers development player to be released from their NBL24 contract following the earlier departure of Tre Armstrong.
