Breakers' long-range weapon

“There’s an NBA talent there."
The newest and final signing for the New Zealand Breakers, Rob Baker II, looks to be the perfect complementary piece for the team with his ability to shoot the three at an extremely high rate.
“I’ve spoken to a lot of people about him… he can shoot the lights out, that’s what his skill set is,” ESPN’s Olgun Ulus said on The Marketplace.
Baker is currently representing Team USA at the FIBA AmeriCup before he heads to New Zealand in preparation for the NBL26 season.
“It seemed to me that this was the key characteristic of whoever they were looking for to fill that spot… being able to step out there and shoot the three at a high rate,” Pete Hooley said.
“You want to give the maximum amount of space for Parker Jackson-Cartwright to work in and operate at a high level.
“So that’s what they’ve gone out there and done.”
Baker II played for Alba Berlin last season and put together a promising tournament at Summer League for the Indiana Pacers in July.
“There’s an NBA talent there,” Uluc added.
“He hasn’t been able to put it all together yet. But I wonder if this is the year where it happens”
Baker II joins another fresh face in Izaiah Brockington in New Zealand as they team up with MVP contender Jackson-Cartwright as the team’s import trio.
With exciting Next Star and projected lottery pick Karim Lopez in his second season and a returning local core, coach Petteri Koponen has a versatile and dynamic line-up at his disposal as they look to bring success back to New Zealand.
