blitz

With Chris Goulding back in action and Javon Freeman-Liberty lighting it up, this matchup offers another glimpse at how both re-tooled squads are shaping up.

Missing some key names on Thursday night, the Brisbane Bullets were nothing short of impressive against the Sydney Kings.

Jaylen Adams and Javon Freeman-Liberty make this lineup a whole different proposition in the Hungry Jack's NBL26 Season, and they've still got some key names to return.

United fell in a close-fought battle against Perth, but will regain Chris Goulding for Saturday night's clash.

It looms as an intriguing look as to where two re-tooled sides are placed ahead of the regular season.

Talking points

Free scoring machine
Freeman-Liberty
was a star in the Bullets' opening game at the CODE Sports NBL Blitz, finishing with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in a well-rounded game.

"Javon Freeman-Liberty - JFL - they might be the three most important initials for the Brisbane Bullets all season long. Well, we got a JLA (Jo Lual-Acuil Jr.) and we got a JFL. And JFL can get you points in a hurry," former MVP Derek Rucker said on NBL Now.

"He's a guy who is a real livewire. His body is really athletic. He's wiry. And I think he's really hard to contain."

Leading from the front
Goulding
is a player who seems to get better with age. At 36, he's just as important now as he was when he joined the club in 2015.

The dynamic between Goulding and former JackJumpers champion Milton Doyle will be an interesting one to watch, with two elite shooters at Dean Vickerman's disposal.

Jesse Edwards
The 213-centimetre big was a commanding presence in his first game with United, monstering the opposition defensively and on the glass.

If he can continue that impact, the Dutchman will be a key name to watch in the Hungry Jack's NBL26 Season.
