Superman returns: Magnay makes JJ's top four threat

“No import in world basketball replaces what he brings.”
Will Magnay is back in green, and it’s a 'win-win' in for the Tasmania JackJumpers, according to the NBL's experts.
The marquee has been locked in for NBL26, injecting instant size, defence and star power back into a roster ready to contend.
His return isn’t just about talent, it’s about timing. With Magnay locked in, the JackJumpers just became a serious threat at the top of the table.
“They are a legitimate top four team. I’ve bumped them up now with Will Magnay returning,” Derek Rucker said on The Marketplace.
Fresh off a strong NBA Summer League stint with the Memphis Grizzlies, Magnay was on the brink of a two way deal - a move that would have cost the JackJumpers their defensive anchor and championship-calibre center.
“This is the best case scenario for the Tasmania JackJumpers. No matter who they got at the five spot import wise, that guy is not replacing what Will Magnay brings,” ESPN's Olgun Uluc said.
“He’s Superman defensively. No import in world basketball replaces what he brings.”
Magnay still managed 13.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last season, even after missing a significant stretch of through injury.
The JackJumpers open their NBL26 campaign on September 18 with a blockbuster home clash against Melbourne United.
