Doolittle escapes serious injury

Friday, May 30, 2025
"There were fears it was a serious lower-leg injury."
Kristian Doolittle has avoided a major setback, with early concerns of an Achilles injury downgraded to an ankle sprain following a training scare in Puerto Rico.
Some reports had Doolittle facing a significant spell on the sidelines, but the news is better than first thought for the Perth star.
“There were fears it was a serious lower-leg injury, but I’m told he’s day-to-day with an ankle sprain. The ultrasound showed no tears. It’s not serious long term, which is a relief for Perth Wildcats fans,” ESPN’s Olgun Uluc said on The Marketplace.
Doolittle is currently playing alongside Adelaide 36ers big man Montrezl Harrell at Gigantes de Carolina in Puerto Rico.
He’s set for an increased role at the Wildcats following the departure of fellow import Bryce Cotton, after a huge Finals series which saw him score 37 points in Game 3 of the Playoffs against Melbourne United.
“He’ll be one of the most impactful players in the league next season. First or second All-NBL team, no doubt,” Peter Hooley added.
