Five-time MVP Bryce Cotton has touched down in Adelaide, ready to light up the court over the next three seasons with the 36ers.

Speaking at Adelaide Airport after greeting head coach Mike Wells, club owner Grant Kelley and new teammate Dejan Vasiljevic, Cotton said the timing was perfect to begin his next chapter as a 36er.

“Everything lined up, it made sense for me personally. It made sense for my family and we wanted to make that move after weighing out all the pros and cons," he said.

Eager to hit the court with his new side, the three-time NBL champion said he was excited to finally link up with his teammates, with special mention for Vasiljevic.

“Everybody, but obviously DJ [Vasiljevic] is a hell of a shooter, so it’ll be great to play alongside of him because he’s had quite some good games against us over the years. So I don’t haver to deal with that anymore more," Cotton joked.

“I’m ready for it, because obviously there’s been a lot of talk, a lot of chatter, but none of it matters until you go out there on the floor. To get that feel of what it’s like with the guys and seeing how quickly we can get our chemistry, that’s the exciting part.”

Asked if the 36ers can be a Championship team in NBL26, boasting a star-studded squad featuring Montrezl Harrell and Zylan Cheatham, Cotton stayed coy.

“I guess we’re gonna find out aren’t we?"

Cotton and the 36ers will suit up for the first time ahead of NBL26 at the pre-season Blitz in Canberra.
