"We don’t need a revolution. We need an evolution."

Perth Wildcats owner, Mark Arena, is already looking at the future of his club after taking over majority interest last month.

Speaking on The West Australian’s The Dribble podcast, Arena mentioned that it was essential for the fans of the club to have their say on future decisions.

“Making sure our members are involved in it is super important,” he said.

Arena has released a survey to the Red Army which encompasses a range of topics, from the logo of the Wildcats to the playing style on the court.

“I think a re-brand is a thing to seriously look at. We are looking to do that,’ he said.

“It won’t be done for this season. I think we’ve got to go with open eyes and say everything is on the table to change.

“Making sure our members are involved in it is super important.”

Included in the topics on the table to change is the idea of a change in the club’s uniform, although there is a strong understanding that could perhaps hinder the impact and brand of one of the best fan bases in sport.

One notable change that Arena would like to see is the game-night experience to attract a younger audience in the future. While he acknowledges the Wildcats have got a formula that is proven to be successful, he understands that it’s a delicate process to look at changes.

“We don’t need a revolution. We need an evolution,” he said.

“We will capture it (the fan data), and that will help drive what the re-brand looks like.”
