Aussie stars embrace Warrior mentality

Alex Toohey and Taran Armstrong each made their mark for Golden State.
Two of Australia’s top young prospects shared the floor on Monday, as Alex Toohey and Taran Armstrong each made their mark for Golden State.
Toohey delivered his strongest showing yet in a Warriors jersey, recording 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a block in 23 minutes against Utah.
Former Cairns Taipan Armstrong followed up a strong showing on Saturday with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in another well-rounded performance.
For Jack White, every game looms as an audition for a potential roster spot.
White impressed with 10 points, 2 steals and 3 blocks in 24 minutes, a solid performance from a player who holds both NBA and NBL titles.
“(I'm) just trying to obviously show what I can do," White told basketball.com.au.
"I think that’s probably one of the main struggles that guys sort of face coming here to Summer League … there’s a fine line between trying to prove yourself and show what you can do, being ultra-aggressive, but at the same time, teams are looking for guys that can play a role.
"For me, my role in the NBA is coming in, playing good defense, talking, being a good teammate, shooting open shots, and just playing to win.
"So, I feel like if I can do that and showcase that here, it’s going to be recognised."
Biwali Bayles, a former King and Hawk, hit his first points for the Knicks with a clutch three late in the game. Former Next Stars Bobi Klintman (7 points, 9 rebounds), AJ Johnson (8 points, 4 rebounds) and Trentyn Flowers (15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals) also made an impact.
Alex Sarr was dominant for Washington, finishing with 16 points, 12 rebounds and a massive 8 blocks. New York big man Ariel Hukporti was just as impressive, hauling in 13 rebounds including 6 on the offensive glass, along with 9 points, 3 blocks and 2 steals.
Tyrese Proctor continued to showcase his versatility, contributing 8 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds.
