Learning is on the mind of the Adelaide 36ers ahead of the NBL Blitz.

Adelaide 36ers coach Mike Wells has put an emphasis on learning ahead of the club’s NBL Blitz opener, saying they want to “move the needle one per cent forward” each day towards the regular season tipping off.

It has been an off-season of change in Adelaide, with the coaching switch from Scott Ninnis to Wells sending shockwaves through the NBL landscape.

However, with the dust settled on the decision and Wells now firmly in control of the team, he is looking to implement positive habits with Monday night’s Blitz clash against the Tasmania JackJumpers presenting another chance to grow.

“For us, every day is still a learning day. We are trying to move the needle one per cent forward today and this will be another good opportunity for us to play against somebody different,” Wells said via the club’s website.

Wells highlighted Nick Marshall as a key piece for the Sixers after his 18-point performance in last week’s preseason hit out against Brisbane.

“We didn’t really run a play for him, and he scored 18 points, so that’s a credit to him, who he is and learning to play off the ball and figuring it out where he has opportunities to score,” Wells said.

“I think he did a great job taking his chances within our offense.” .

Tip-off between Adelaide and Tasmania is 5pm AEST on Monday night, with the game broadcast live on Kayo.
