"We’ve been working together on reshaping the roster, and getting the right coaching staff."

The Adelaide 36ers have hit the ground running this off-season, locking in key signings and now adding two new additions to their coaching staff.

Former Cairns Taipans assistant Kerry Williams and Brisbane Bullets’ Luke Cann will join the club as assistant coaches going forward.

Williams’ expertise and résumé has continued to grow, including being part of the Australian Boomers coaching staff in the 2021 and 2025 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.

Cann was previously an assistant for the Australian Under 17 national team, as well as part of the Bullets staff.

“We’re extremely fortunate to add the experience of Kerry and Luke to our coaching group,” Head Coach Mike Wells said.

“This is part of the process Matt Weston and I went through to reshape our basketball program.

“We’ve been working together on reshaping the roster, and getting the right coaching staff to work with those players is the next piece.

“I believe we now have one of the most experienced and balanced coaching groups in the competition.”

Both coaches bring a new and unique lens to the experienced staff that Adelaide already have with Wells, Marko Marinovic and development coaches Igor Cvjetovic and Jakob Dorricott.
