Just when it appeared that one of Tasmania’s stars was staring down the barrel of another lost season with injury, a club representative has provided a positive update on his outlook.

During an interview with SEN Tassie’s Brent Costeloe, JackJumpers GM of Basketball Operations Darren Smith explained that the severity of Sean Macdonald’s injury isn’t as bad as originally thought.

“It’s not a full rupture [of the ACL] the second time around, just partially torn or strained,” Smith said to SEN Tassie.

“It's not the full year rehabilitation. It's going to be significantly less than that.

“Roughly what I've been advised is that it's going to be around the halfway mark [of the season for his return].

“We're going to be very cautious and just see how that plays out, but it was actually pretty good news for him.”

Macdonald, who missed the entire Hungry Jack’s NBL26 Season due to ACL surgery, reportedly sustained another injury to his knee in April at training.

Joining Macdonald on the JackJumpers’ roster for next season are Taran Armstrong, Will Magnay, Josh Bannan, Nick Marshall, Ben Ayre, Kobe Williamson and Archie Woodhill.
