Talking points

Rivalry set to explode
Get the popcorn ready, as the third Championship Series instalment between Bryce Cotton and Kendric Davis is going to be a must-watch.

Sydney’s star guard took home the chocolates in Game 1, before six-time MVP Cotton starred in Game 2, including a game-winning shot as time expired.

But the fireworks aren’t just on the court, with the two guards coming face-to-face on the court post-game, in a heated altercation, which saw them have to separated.

Home crowd advantage
Sydney made the most of their home court in Game 1, recording a historic 44-point win over Adelaide.

But then in Game 2, the 36ers returned serve in front of yet another sellout crowd.

With Game 3 being at Qudos Bank Arena, does Sydney have the advantage in front of 15,000-plus fans?

What they're saying

Kings coach Brian Goorjian on how his team will be ready to rebound in Game 3:
“This [Game 2] is a hard one to swallow, but it's a best-of-five Series.

“Both teams are energised and trying to win a championship. People are poking each other every chance they get, but we’re not taking a backward step.

“We’ve worked all year to get home court, and now we're coming back to our place. I like our chances.”

36ers star Bryce Cotton his post-game altercation with Kendric Davis in Game 2:
“I’ve never had a rivalry in this League. It’s just playoff basketball.

“Tempers flare. It’s part of playoff basketball and it is what it is.

“I grew up playing at the parks where things get feisty like that. It’s just basketball.

“That’s just another day back in America. You guys might make a big deal out of it, but it’s another day.”
