Melbourne United appear to be closing in on a deal for NBA veteran and Australian Boomer Joe Ingles, according to reports.
ESPN’s Olgun Uluc reports that while the Adelaide 36ers and South East Melbourne Phoenix hold an interest in Ingles, it is his belief that United is best placed to add the Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist to its roster for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season.
The 807-game NBA veteran has played for Utah, Milwaukee, Orlando and Minnesota after starting his professional career in the NBL with the South Dragons.
This report comes after Uluc linked free agent big man Sam Waardenburg to United.
As it stands, Dean Vickerman’s side has Chris Goulding, Shea Ili, Kyle Bowen, Fabijan Krslovic and Dash Daniels under contract for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season.
