Season on the line, Wells weighs bold changes

Mike Wells and his Adelaide 36ers are prepared to do “anything to get a win” against the Sydney Kings on Wednesday night.
Down 2-1 in the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 Championship Series and with their backs against the wall, the Adelaide 36ers are willing to do whatever it takes to extend their season.
During the club’s media availability, coach Mike Wells explained that all options were being looked at for his side, ahead of Wednesday’s Game 4.
“Everything's on the table, to be honest with you,” Wells said during the media availability.

One suggestion that NBL champion Damon Lowery made during Monday’s episode of NBL Overtime was around the playing time of Dejan Vasiljevic, who is shooting just 24 per cent this Series, and John Jenkins, who had 22 points in Game 3.
It's something that Wells and his coaching staff are sure to consider.
“You're trying to figure out how to extend your season. As a coach, if I need to start somebody who's in a red jersey, then I’ve got to start that,” Wells said.
“Anything to get a win. That's what we have to do, because if we don't win, then the season's over, and we pack the uniforms up, and we turn the lights off, and this thing's over.
“We just want to make sure that we put our best effort forward and take care of home court. If we don't do that, then we're going fishing.”
Apart from having six-time MVP Bryce Cotton on their side, the other obvious ace in the 36ers’ back pocket to send the Series to Game 5 is their home crowd.
The 36ers have currently strung 41 sellouts at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and are expecting another huge crowd on Wednesday night.
“[This is] another opportunity for the group, we're excited to play at home at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre,” Well said.
“It's the best fans in the NBL. The noise is going to be crazy. We love that sixth man.
“We've had a lot of success at home here during the playoffs, and we need to double down and bank on that and win a home game.
“Playoff basketball, that's what it's all about. That's why you play a lot of times to get these types of situations, because there's just so much energy in the building, and you can feel that, and it helps us.”
Game 4 of the Championship Series tips off at 7.30pm AEDT on Wednesday at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, live on ESPN and 10 Drama in Sydney and Adelaide.
