THROWBACK | Slammin' Sam dominates for Bullets

In an exciting back-to-the-future moment for the Mackinnon family, the Brisbane Bullets this week signed Max to a two-year deal.

Max, who returns to the club following a stint in the United States college system, follows in his father Sam's footsteps at the Bullets.

The Australian Boomer played three seasons for the Bullets from NBL06 to NBL08, helping the club claim their third-ever championship in 2006-07.

During that campaign, Mackinnon claimed both the League and Finals MVP, after posting career highs in points (19.7) and three-point percentage (47.5).

Other accolades Mackinnon achieved during his 87 appearances were being named to the All-NBL First (2006-07) and Second (2005-06) Teams, as well as the NBL Best Defensive Player (2006-07).

In his three campaigns with the Bullets, Mackinnon averaged 16.2 points, 9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
