One week after he stepped down as the Adelaide 36ers coach, Mike Wells has reportedly landed a new position.
According to CODE Sports, Wells, who spent two seasons with Adelaide, is set to join US college side Ohio State.
CODE Sports says Wells plans to link up with the Buckeyes so he can also be close to his family, including his son and parents.
During his time in the Hungry Jack’s NBL, Wells guided the team from the City of Churches to the post-season twice, including the 2025-26 Championship Series.
Across the two campaigns, Wells coached 72 games, winning 41 of them at 56.9 per cent.
In the wake of Wells’ departure, ESPN’s Olgun Uluc is reporting that five-time NBL champion Trevor Gleeson has emerged as the “frontrunner” for the Sixers’ Head Coaching role.
