NZNBL Wrap (July 25, 2024)

Lachlan Olbrich's Canterbury Rams and Reuben Te Rangi's Auckland Tuatara are through to the NZNBL Grand Finals. 

Olbrich has had a standout season with the Rams, and was awarded the League's 2024 MVP Award, as well as both Youth Player of the Year and Most Outstanding Forward. 

In the Semi Finals against the Taranaki Airs, Olbrich tallied 22 points, 16 rebounds, and three assists, while teammates Max Darling (20pts, 10reb) and Walter Brown (17pts, 8reb) assisted in the thrilling one-point win. 

In an unfortunate loss for the Airs, Flynn Cameron racked up 25 points and four rebounds in his last game in the NZNBL. Mitch McCarron scored eight points, eight rebounds, and nine assists. Carlin Davison contributed 22 points and 13 rebounds. 

Auckland's Te Rangi scored 17 points and five rebounds in their 78-75 Semi Finals win over Sam Timmins' Franklin Blues. Rob Loe starred for Auckland with 20 points and five rebounds, while Cam Gliddon produced four points and five rebounds. 

Timmins scored an impressive 30 points and eight rebounds for the Blues, while Dom Kelman-Poto tallied three points and two rebounds.
