Green backs Australia to host regular season NBA games

Pelicans coach Willie Green that Australia hosting a regular season NBA game in the future is a real 'possibility'.
With the historic NBAxNBL Melbourne Series, which saw more than 60,000 people attend Melbourne Park over the past four days, coming to a close, all eyes are fixated on what the future holds.
According to New Orleans Pelicans coach Willie Green, whose team won both matches against Melbourne and South East Melbourne, it should involve more NBA teams coming to Australia's shores - even potentially for a regular season game.
"I think it [regular season NBA games] is a possibility for sure," Green said during Sunday's post-game press conference.
"The game is so global that you're getting teams that are playing regular season games in other countries and after this experience, I think you'll see more teams [come to Australia]."
Echoing Green's sentiment was superstar guard Jordan Poole, who had 15 points, 4 assists and 2 rebounds in Sunday's 35-point win, who spoke glowingly of the whole experience.
"There was a great fan support [all week] and I've only got positive things to say about this experience," Poole said.
"I believe we should make it more routine for sure."
The Pelicans now return home to the US ahead of their 2025-26 NBA season tipping off on October 23 against Memphis.
