Jason Cadee explains why the Wildcats are backing themselves to beat anyone, anywhere as they gear up for a high-stakes Finals clash with Phoenix.

Winners of 10 of their past 12 games, the Perth Wildcats head into the NBL26 Finals as one of the form teams in the competition.

Although they’ll be on the road for the start of their post-season campaign, playing South East Melbourne at John Cain Arena, NBL commentator Jason Cadee says the Wildcats hold no fear.

“The internal feel I get from some of those guys [Perth] is they don't care who they meet,” Cadee said on Tuesday’s NBL Now.

“They actually believe that now that they've got their full cohort of guys, they can go and make an impression and win games no matter who, no matter where.

“[Further to that] I think the mindset for these games isn't who can we then go and play, it's more how do we win this game and then worry about what's next.”

But to not worry about what’s next, John Rillie’s side, who are 11-5 on the road, must overcome the in-form Phoenix side, whom they’ve won against in the past two meetings.

But unfortunately, that is overshadowed by the fact that the Wildcats have lost their past seven matches at John Cain Arena,

“Ultimately, [I believe the game] is won by South East Melbourne,” Cadee said.

“They shoot the three ball well, they live and die by the three ball and their ability to get up and create pressure.

“[Not to mention] they have home court advantage, and haven’t had as much of a disruptive FIBA Break as Perth had.”

The NBL26 Finals tip off on Wednesday, March 4, with the Seeding Qualifier between South East Melbourne and Perth at John Cain Arena from 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
