Cotton “as good as advertised”: Carmelo

NBA legend Carmelo Anthony has heaped praise on four-time NBL MVP Bryce Cotton, after having a courtside seat to his 26-point masterclass last Friday night.

With Anthony in town for HoopsFest, Cotton starred with eight three-pointers to lead his Perth Wildcats to victory over the South East Melbourne Phoenix.

Playing with his patented swagger and energy in front of the adoring Wildcats faithful, Cotton caught the eye of the 10-time NBA All-Star Anthony, who had nothing but glowing thoughts.

“I thought he was as good as advertised,” Anthony said of Cotton via The West Australian’s The Dribble Podcast.

“Obviously, being a student of the game, I know who Bryce is. I watched him play in college and throughout the years.

“But you always hear about those names and the guys who are consistently, constantly doing it on the international level. So his name had always come up. So the fact that we could watch him – he puts on a show. This is what he doing. He’s a four-time MVP. Like, this is what he do.”

Cotton returns to the court this Friday night in a blockbuster clash against the Sydney Kings at 9:30pm AEST live on ESPN.
