A star guard has departed Melbourne United after two seasons.

Melbourne United has officially farewelled Ian Clark, with the star guard departing the club after two seasons.

Clark played a key role in United’s push to both the Hungry Jack’s NBL24 and NBL25 Championship Series’, winning the league’s Best Sixth Man Award in his first season with the club.

He averaged 14 points a game in 66 appearances for Melbourne, earning a reputation as an incredibly reliable and clutch shooter.

Clark previously won a Championship with the Sydney Kings during the NBL22 Season, before spending a year with the Adelaide 36ers.

“With our guard positions for the NBL26 Season locked in, we want to say a massive THANK YOU to Ian Clark for everything you brought to our club across the past two seasons,” the club said via Instagram on Thursday.

Melbourne has Shea Ili, new signing Tyson Walker and Next Star Dash Daniels leading up its guard rotation for the new season.
