Scheduled selections

Blokes

The Breakers and the JackJumpers are the lone teams on the double this week. The Breakers however, start a league best three straight double rounds and if you are looking longer term, 11 doubles over the next 14 rounds!

Parker Jackson-Cartwright could almost be a set and forget for the remainder of the season based on the schedule alone.

The JackJumpers have three doubles over the next four rounds.

Melbourne United and SEM both have three straight doubles after this week, while the Kings have two.

On the other side of the schedule, we have Adelaide starting a string of six straight singles - Davis and Harrell have served us well but the schedule dictates they can go.

The Bullets have another four straight singles, before they play their first double game round of the season

Plenty of coaches are considering Taran Armstrong upon his return, but note Cairns only have one double over the next six rounds, whilst the Hawks have just the 1 over the next 5.

Trade targets

Parker-Jackson Cartwright (GRD) NZ $421,200
The highest averaging playing in SuperCoach NBL returns to action this week and is the number one trade target this round.

Sam Mennenga (FWD/CTR) NZ $154,800
Has started all games for the Breakers ahead of Gillespie. With handy dual positioning and a seemingly defined role, Sam could be a popular option this round.

Matt Mooney (GRD) NZ $277,000
Seemingly the second fiddle to PJC, Mooney has demonstrated an ability to put up stats all across the box score. With the upcoming schedule for NZ, he becomes a potential unique option for us this week.

Will Magnay (FWD/CTR) TAS $317,200
He has been battling illness and blowouts over the last couple of rounds meaning you can pick up Magnay at a nice little discount compared to last week. He is still at risk of losing more cash, but has shown the ability to produce 50+ scores already this season.

Majok Deng (FWD) TAS $206,300
We highlighted Majok as a bounce back candidate in the pre-season. He is in great form for his price and can still be traded into your team this week.

Keli Leaupepe (FWD) SYD $164,700
Keli showed an amazing ability to be able to get 10 points and 10 rebounds last round. He remains one of the best cash-cows in the competition with a good short-term schedule.

Benny’s breakevens

Here are some of the Break Evens of interest heading into Round 4:
Tyler Robertson: -16 (1 game)
Keli Leaupepe: -12 (1 game)
Will Hickey: -3 (1 game)
Casey Prather: -2 (1 game)
Malique Lewis: -2 (1 game)
Sam Mennenga: 25 (2 games)
Majok Deng: 33 (2 games)
Parker Jackson-Cartwright: 65 (2 games)
Will Magnay: 64 (2 games)

Milton Doyle
Parker Jackson-Cartwright
Jordon Crawford

Boydie’s questions and answers

Question: Is Taran Armstrong still a trade target for us this week?
Answer: In a word, yes! However, the difficulty comes in the fact that Cairns plays late on Saturday; and Taran may well be a game-time decision. This means that you may have some players locked before hearing the final news regarding Taran’s playing status. If we can see that he is back in the starting lineup, we certainly tick off bringing Taran in.

Question: Is Milton Doyle a player to avoid trading in this round now?
Answer:
Unfortunately, based on his high breakeven, we think there are better options to trade in than Doyle this week. We would prioritise bringing in both Matt Mooney and Jordon Crawford over Doyle this week. However, if you already own Doyle, we don’t think it is worth trading him out.

Question: Should I trade Henshall/Pepper/Adnam/Makoi to Tyler Robertson?
Answer:
If we get confirmation that Jaylen Adams is out this week with his back injury, we would sign off on doing any of the above trades this week. If Adams is listed to play, we agree that you can do these trades with your second trade, but we would be reluctant to boost in order to bring Robertson in.
