Talking points
Finish the season on a high
It's been a rough NBL26 for the reigning champions, who will likely miss out on the post-season and a chance to go back-to-back. Through all their injuries and performance troubles, there would be one way to give the team and fans some enjoyment before it's all over - beat their biggest rival. There's no love lost between the Kings and Hawks and while Sydney is flying and looking to finish first, the Hawks have a chance to inflict some pain on that path.
MVP case
Each of these last few games from Kendric Davis, could have a significant push towards his MVP case when the awards are decided in 10 days. Davis has been storming home in the back half of the season and has put together yet another outstanding statistical year for the Kings. Many experts believe the battle between Bryce Cotton and him couldn't be any closer, which makes these last few games even more important.
What they're saying
Hawks coach Justin Tatum on their up and down season:
“Our inconsistency has been a little frustrating, but we have a great group of guys who are trying to figure it out.
"We've had people come in and out of our line-up and guys have been up and down with their form, so it's a whole combination of things behind our inconsistent season.
"I want us to have effort and consistency over these last three [starting on Friday against Sydney."
Kings forward Kouat Noi on his side being the championship favourites:
“I feel it in the air, we're the team to beat.
“We can't take our foot off the gas though, we must keep stacking good days. This has to be the year.”
