Exum, Green progress to Western Conference Finals

Monday, May 20, 2024
Josh Green and Dante Exum have claimed bragging rights over Josh Giddey in NBA Playoffs action.
Josh Green and Dante Exum have won their NBA Playoff battle with fellow Boomers Olympian Josh Giddey, with the Dallas Mavericks progressing to the Western Conference Finals at the expense of Giddey’s OKC Thunder.
The Mavericks progressed to the next stage courtesy of their one-point Game 6 win over the Thunder, and will contest the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2022.
Green and Exum’s next opponent will come in the form of the Denver Nuggets or Minnesota Timberwolves, who will contest the decisive seventh game of their series on Monday morning AEST.
Exum did not take to the court in the victory following his integral contributions over the course of the regular season and early post-season campaign, while Green played a crucial 19 minutes from the bench.
Giddey played 10 minutes in the defeat for the Thunder.
The Boomers trio have remained in Brian Goorjian’s Olympic calculations following the decision to trim the extended roster to 17 names, ahead of the upcoming training camp.
