Milton Doyle has detailed his decision to re-sign with Tasmania ahead of NBL24.

The re-signing of Milton Doyle was priority one for Tasmania, and with last season’s All-NBL First Team member signed and a new team built around him, the star guard believes his JackJumpers side are well placed to – once again – compete for a title.

Doyle returned to Tasmania earlier this week ahead of the side’s pre-season campaign. Between the final game of NBL23 and his return to the Apple Isle he played 12 games for Turkish side Tofas SK, where he put up 12.6 points per game.

He says it was a no-brainer to re-sign with the club.

“Yeah, it was easy,” Doyle told The Mercury.

“I loved it here last season and my family was the same. So it was easy for me to make the decision to return back.”

Doyle’s time in Turkey provided him with a firsthand look at new teammate and likely starting backcourt partner Jordon Crawford.

Crawford finished last season as the top scorer in the Turkish Basketball Super League by averaging 19.6 points per game across 29 appearances with Buyukcekmece.

“His ability to score and pass the ball will make my job easy along with Marcus (Lee) and what he can do in the paint blocking shots. Everybody is healthy right now. I think we look stronger," Doyle said.

Tasmania will open its NBL24 campaign against Perth on Friday, September 29.
