Perth's Sunday Dech will be sidelined for close to one month due to a calf injury.

Sunday Dech’s long-awaited return in the Perth Wildcats' colours will be delayed, the club announced on Friday.

Dech, who first lined up with the Wildcats in 2013, before NBL stints with Illawarra and Adelaide, has been ruled out for the first three to four rounds of the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season due to a calf injury.

Sunday Dech (calf) has been ruled out for first 3-4 weeks of the NBL season. Updates on his return to play timeline will be communicated when available.

The 31-year-old, who signed a three-year deal with the Wildcats in April, will be replaced by the club’s development player, Jaron Rillie, in the squad for Saturday’s season-opener against Tasmania at RAC Arena.
