Sky’s the limit for Bullets’ season opener

The Brisbane Bullets will create history during their Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season opener, playing a home Open Air Game under the night sky for the first time.

The Bullets announced on Friday that their Tuesday, September 22 fixture with New Zealand at Pat Rafter Arena would be played with an open roof, to give fans an experience like never before.

Not only that, it will mark the first basketball fixture to be played at the 5,500-seat venue, which Bullets CEO Malcolm Watts believes will give their fans an unforgettable start to the 2026-27 campaign.

"We wanted to deliver something innovative and exciting as part of this year's schedule, and opening our season at Pat Rafter Arena certainly achieves that," Watts said.

"A lot of our fans may have been to this arena before, and it's a great venue.

"Being here will provide some unforgettable moments at a one-of-a-kind event."

The Bullets are looking to bounce back in NBL27 under new Head Coach Will Weaver, who has assembled an exciting roster of Tyrell Harrison, Nate Hinton, Jaylin Williams, Arnas Velička, Mac Mackinnon, Jacob Holt, Sam McDaniel, Lat Mayen, Taine Murray, Mitch Norton, Harry Rouhliadeff and Rio Bruton.
