Boomers to host historic Perth fixtures

The Australian Boomers will host two FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers at Perth’s RAC Arena in July.
The Australian Boomers will return to Perth for the first time since 2019 in July, when they host a FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers double-header.
During the pair of games at RAC Arena, the Boomers will first face Guam on Friday, July 3 from 8.30pm AEST and the Philippines from 8.30pm AEST on Monday, July 6.
The games will mark the first-ever international FIBA fixtures hosted in Perth, which reflects the reputation as a thriving and growing basketball city.
“It’s great to see these games coming to Perth, obviously, growing up in WA with aspirations of playing at RAC Arena, so it’s wild to be here with the potential to do it with the Boomers,” said current Perth Wildcat and Australian Boomers guard Ben Henshall.
“There’s something special about the fans here.
“Coming in as a developing player with the Wildcats, the support they have for me is unreal. They get behind you,”
“I have no doubt the Red Army will turn Green and Gold for the Boomers.”
As it stands, the Boomers sit on top of Group A of their Qualifying Pool, thanks to a 4-0 record.
The 2027 FIBA World Cup will be held in Qatar from August 27 to September 12.
