Coming off the back of their now world-famous win over the Phoenix Suns, the Adelaide 36ers have landed in Oklahoma City ready to take another famous scalp.

The 36ers defied the odds on Monday to become the first NBL team to ever defeat an NBA side, overcoming a Chris Paul and Devin Booker led Suns side by ten points.

Hyrum Harris made the most of his nine minutes on court in Phoenix, and he says his side is firmly focused on their next opponents.

“We’ve proven we can beat an NBA team already, and we want to prove we can go two for two against NBA teams,” Harris told NBL Media.

“That’s the mentality for us right now. We’ll have training, go over a few things and then come game time I think we’ll be ready.

“It’s all about moving on and getting prepared for the next game up, obviously against Oklahoma City. It’ll be another good challenge for us and hopefully we can all come to the plate.”

The OKC clash looms as a reunion between the 36ers and highly touted guard Josh Giddey.

Giddey spent the NBL21 campaign with the 36ers, where he won NBL Rookie of the Year before being drafted to OKC with the sixth pick in the NBA Draft.

After impressing in his debut season with the Thunder, Giddey is now one of the most highly thought of talents in the NBA.

Having been charged with guarding NBA legend and 'Point-God' Chris Paul for much of his time on court, it's likely Giddey's former teammate Sunday Dech will be tasked with curbing the 19-year-old's influence on proceedings.

Dech says once his side steps out on court it doesn't matter who the opposition is.

“We came here with the goal to win games and enjoy the experience, which we are,” Dech said. “We’re definitely on a high at the moment but the goal is to keep improving, because after this game our season starts.

“It was unreal to play against Chris Paul, the likes of Devin Booker as well – guys who I’ve watched for a very long time now, and to get a win against them was something special as well.

“You’re playing against some of the best players in the world. I think once that wears off after the first ball goes in or the free throw is made you have to lock in and focus again.

“We were really happy for each other, and [we want to] keep that momentum going against OKC.”
