The Adelaide 36ers have added a former South East Melbourne assistant to their ranks.

The Adelaide 36ers have continued to fill out their coaching ranks ahead of NBL24, adding former South East Melbourne assistant Craig Simpson for the upcoming campaign.

Simpson spent the NBL23 season at the Phoenix, following over a decade in the Chinese CBA. Prior to that, he was an NBL-title winning assistant at South Dragons and head coach of the Australian U17 national side.

“From his Dragons days to coaching overseas, Craig brings so much experience to this group,” head coach CJ Bruton said.

“To bring that head coaching experience as well to the group is something now all my staff have had over previous seasons.”

Much of Simpson’s experience in China was as a head coach. The final role he held prior to returning to Australia was leading the SanXi Dragons. Before that he was head coach of the Shenzen Leopards and Dongguan Leopards development team.
