Vickerman provides Jack White injury update

Melbourne United coach Dean Vickerman believes versatile swingman Jack White will return from his Achilles injury this season.

White tore his Achilles in early April which ended his rookie season. However, the 24-year-old has had a strong recovery according to Vickerman and the former Duke captain is set to role during United’s title defence.

“He will play, I believe, this year. How soon that is I'm not sure of,” Vickerman said.

“He is really into some contact work and playing one on one. (He is) progressing fairly quickly and look forward to getting him back in the line-up.”

Melbourne’s season begins on Sunday December 5 against the Sydney Kings. Tip-off is at 3pm AEDT and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN and 10 Peach.
