The Wildcats star on brink of top five

Saturday, May 3, 2025
"There’s no doubt in my mind—he’s leaning towards being a top-five player in this league on both ends of the floor."
As the Perth Wildcats usher in a new era following Bryce Cotton’s departure, the club is searching for its new marquee man to set the standard.
Versatile forward Kristian Doolittle recently re-signed with the club on a three-year deal, and according to Wildcats GM of Basketball Operations Danny Mills, his trajectory is among the NBL’s elite.
“There’s no doubt in my mind—he’s leaning towards being a top-five player in this league on both ends of the floor,” Mills said on NBL Now.
“Everyone’s seen the level Kristian played at over the last two seasons, especially at the back end of last season and into the Finals.”
Doolittle’s ability to defend multiple positions, space the floor, and contribute in high-pressure moments has made him one of the most complete players in the NBL. His re-signing was a priority for the Wildcats, and a major win.
Coming off a Finals campaign where he averaged a massive 24 points and 10.8 rebounds a game, the 27-year-old is vital to Perth’s championship aspirations.
“To have him in his prime for three years, and for him to commit back to Perth, especially with interest from all over the world, that speaks volumes,” Mills said.
“We’re building around him. This isn’t just about contending in NBL26 … this is about sustained success.”
