As free agency rolls on, players performing well in NBL1 competitions are being watched closely by NBL teams looking to bolster their roster.

Speaking on NBL Free Agency Market Watch, NBL analyst Liam Santamaria provided an update on the big names teams are monitoring.

Mangok Mathiang (Casey Cavaliers)

"Last weekend he played for the Casey Cavaliers, (his) first game in a really really long time. We know he suffered a horrendous injury a while back and it's been a long road to recovery for Mangok Mathiang. It's great, first and foremost, to just see him back out there. (He) brushed off the cobwebs with a double-double, but make no mistake, teams are tracking him right now as a name in free agency. (Teams are saying) what do we have in the front line? Could he give us something as a local big?"

Kouat Noi (USC Rip City)

"(Clubs) are having a good look. He's had a knee problem that's been giving him grief. It was that injury that restricted him two seasons ago, but it impacted him last season no doubt about it. He was in nowhere near the condition last season in the NBL that he needed to be, to be at his best. Now, he's still not, but he's putting up some numbers. He's averaging 28 and 11 in NBL1 North right now. He's predominately playing power forward, a lot of back to the basket type stuff. My understanding is that there's some NBL teams having a bit of a look at him right now, pending the health of his knee."

Tanner Krebs (Gold Coast)

"He's available. I think he's an interesting name in free agency. He can play. I've said on the broadcast last season, he's a much better shooter than what he's shown in the NBL in his first couple of years. Can he turn that around and put that on display? He had some turnover issues as a secondary ball handler last season, but I like the way he gets after it defensively. My understanding is his status in free agency right now is, it's less about salary, and more about opportunity. Can he find a situation where he's going to be able to play. That's another name that teams are tracking right now. I think he’ll find a team. I'm not sure if he’ll find the opportunity he's looking for."
