Pricing explained
Congratulations! You have won the job as Owner, Head Coach and CEO of your very own NBL SuperCoach roster. You now have $2 million to build a roster that is going to set you up for a championship.

You have checked out how the scoring system works and you are certain that Bryce Cotton is going to be your marquee man. It is at this point that you may wonder why Bryce Cotton is so expensive. The answer is the same for all of the returning players that are back for NBL25; they are priced based on their SuperCoach NBL average from last season; or their NBL23 average in the case of Cooks, Walton and Anticevich.

Any returning player that has had a longer absence from the league than that, will be considered a new player and priced accordingly. Essentially, if you think you can find someone that had an uncharacteristically bad season last year and that they will bounce back, those players should increase in value and be good selections.

Returning player: Bryce Cotton (PERTH) - GRD - $448,500

Cotton2
Cotton is the finest of all returning players. His price is based on his average of 36.8 NBL SuperCoach points last season.

Returning player: Casey Prather (BRISBANE) - GRD/FWD - $139,200

PratherPrather played very few minutes for Brisbane last season in returning from injury. Could we benefit from his lower starting price?

How about new players to the league? How are they priced? Let’s start with arguably the most important group, the new imports. New imports are all priced at $277,000. For some perspective, they will need to average about 23 SuperCoach points per game to maintain that starting value. Last season we had 16 new imports play with eight of them exceeding this value and eight of them falling short. Your goal should be to pick this season's version of Parker Jackson-Cartwright who averaged 34.6 and was a great cash cow and captain option.

New import: Kendric Davis (ADELAIDE) - GRD - $277,000

DavisWill we see another small guard in Davis become this season's Parker Jackson-Cartwright?

We all know how important having good local players is to success in the NBL; and the same can be said when building your SuperCoach NBL side. Returning local professionals are priced at $232,000, which equates to around 19 SuperCoach points per game to maintain value. Some examples from last season included Craig Moller and Jonah Bolden. This season we have a couple of great options returning from the G-League.

Returning local pro: Jack White (MELBOURNE) - FWD - $232,000

White2An NBA champion, could Jack White lead you to a SuperCoach championship?

Returning local pro: Mojave King (NEW ZEALAND) - GRD/FWD - $232,000

KingThe King has returned! Will the third club be the charm for the former Next Star?

Moving on from a former NBL Next Star program participant in King, which Next Star will rule for your NBL SuperCoach side? It will be hard to live up to last season's results where all of Sarr, Klintman, Toohey and Rubstavicius all exceeded the approximately nine SuperCoach points that the $115,000 price equates to. Last year it was Saar with the top average of 19.2 SuperCoach points in somewhat restricted minutes. This year it could well be another Wildcat that is the pick of the litter.

Next Star: Izan Almansa (PERTH) - FWD/CTR - $115,000

Izan
Will the best Next Star be the next Sarr?

Every year the NBL gets an exciting new group of College players that are taking up their first professional contracts. Last season was headlined by Taran Armstrong and Josh Bannan who unfortunately missed the start of the season before coming to excellent downgrade targets.

The NBL is no cupcake league and we can often see players buried on the depth chart. You will need to look for players who have regular rotation minutes in order to pay off their $69,000 starting price and average more than six SuperCoach points.

College returnee: Tyler Robertson (SYDNEY) - GRD/FWD - $69,000

Robertson
Tyler Robertson got selected to an NBA Summer League squad, but can he crack the Sydney Kings rotation?

The final set pricing is for development players. It is not very often that you get the likes of Luke Travers or Sean Macdonald who can make an impact as a DP. We normally wouldn’t recommend selecting any development players. Thankfully we have an option that is priced at his DP pricing from last season despite being elevated to another club’s full roster.

Development Player Priced: Jackson Makoi (CAIRNS) - GRD - $58,500

JacksonIf Jackson Makoi is the real deal, he will be a SuperCoach steal.

That has been a summary of all the player pricing in NBL SuperCoach for 2025. To listen to a few more options we like at the different price points, be sure to check out our podcast which will be bringing you heaps of content throughout the pre-season.
