With NBL1 conferences across the country, NBL players are front and centre suiting up for various teams, with all the action live and free to watch on the NBL1 App and NBL1.com.au.
NBL1 North is well and truly into the business end of its campaign due to the commencement of finals, and that was where the best viewing came from in last weekend’s action.
Adelaide’s Anthony Drmic put on an absolute clinic in Northside’s overtime win over Mackay, racking up an incredible 42 points, to go along with 11 rebounds in the two-point victory.
The cherry on top of the cake was Drmic’s overtime winner, where a well-worked play off of an inbound pass allowed him to hammer home a dunk with just one second to go.

Drmic’s NBL level teammates were all solid contributors to the victory. Keanu Pinder was the best of the rest for Northside. He stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals, plus a trio of trademark massive blocks.

Mackay’s talent didn’t make the victory easy for Northside. The Galloway brothers starred against their quality opposition. Kyrin Galloway finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks, including stopping Northside’s high-flyer Keanu Pinder at the rim.

Jaylin Galloway finished with 23 points and 5 rebounds.
Drmic wasn’t the only player to hit a monster shot this week, with Lat Mayen’s 37 points leading his Cairns side to a narrow victory over Ipswich.
Mayen hit a heavily contested three with just four seconds remaining to send the game to overtime. Cairns would go on to control the extra period and win the clash by three.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">LAT MAYEN SENDS IT TO OT IN THE <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NBL1FINALS?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#NBL1FINALS</a> ?<br><br>Watch the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NBL1North?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#NBL1North</a> on <a href="https://t.co/NEk1I7BLMG">https://t.co/NEk1I7BLMG</a> or the NBL1 App ??? <a href="https://t.co/A51d4VVIDo">pic.twitter.com/A51d4VVIDo</a></p>— NBL1 (@NBL1) <a href="https://twitter.com/NBL1/status/1558403651567161346?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 13, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Ben Ayre and Kody Stattman played strong support roles for the on fire Mayen. Ayre had 15 points and a pair of steals while Stattmann finished with a 21-point, 11-rebound double-double.
Despite falling at the final hurdle, Ipswich went down swinging against the Marlins. JackJumper Isaac White stuffed the statsheet with 23 points, 7 boards, 5 assists, 3 steals and a block, while Majok Deng put in a strong defensive performance, finishing with 4 blocks and a pair of steals to go with his 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Rip City’s Kouat Noi talked the talk before his side’s do or die clash with Darwin, and he well and truly walked the walk with an exceptional performance in his side’s three-point win.
Noi led the game in both points and rebounds, with 30 and 15 respectively. Makuach Maluach’s efforts weren’t enough to get the Salties over the line but he impressed with 20 points and 9 boards of his own.
Wani Swaka Lo Buluk did well in his matchup with NBL legend Nate Jawai, to finish with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
