NBL and The Man Cave encourage youth to Take Their Shots

As a way to support Men’s Mental Health Week, the NBL, in partnership with Australia's leading preventive mental health charity for boys and young men, The Man Cave, hosted an activation at Port Melbourne’s Courtside.

The exclusive Take The Shot event, which had a mantra of ‘healthy men start with healthy boys', united boys, role models, and leaders on the basketball court to demonstrate how physical, mental, and emotional health are deeply connected.

Included in the event was a workshop, led by co-founder Al Green and senior facilitator Kyle Llewellyn, and a Hero Highlight and Hardship Panel, featuring Melbourne United’s Kyle Bowen and former AFL player Mitch Brown.

“I loved the workshop, feel strongly aligned with it, and am keen to help this program grow,” Bowen said after the event.

Following the workshop, all the boys and government representatives in attendance took part in a 3x3 basketball game, which featured celebrity Brooke Blurton.
