The Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League (NBL) is delighted to announce that MG Motor Australia will continue as the league’s Official Vehicle Partner.

Officially the fastest-growing automotive brand in Australia and New Zealand, MG has been a valued partner of the NBL since 2018, and this new agreement will drive that partnership to the next level.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have MG back in the NBL family for the next three years," NBL Owner and Executive Chairman Larry Kestelman said.

“Since our partnership began in 2018, the NBL and MG have worked together to bring a range of great benefits to our fans. We will continue to do this with MG car giveaways and other exciting initiatives."

“We are delighted to renew our partnership with the Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League,” CEO of MG Motor Australia, Peter Ciao, said.

“The NBL is an exciting, dynamic part of the Australian sporting landscape, and we look forward to growing our partnership with the league over the next three seasons.”

Melbourne United's Jack White and South East Melbourne Phoenix's Kyle Adnam will continue as MG ambassadors, while NBL fans will once again have the chance to win a brand new MG during the season.

“We're looking forward to working closely together to continue to help grow MG’s brand and visibility across the country," Mr Kestelman said, noting that interest in the NBL is at an all-time high.

“We have just announced an historic media deal that will take the coverage and exposure of our competition to new heights.

"Interest in basketball is soaring, particularly after the Australian Boomers’ Olympic bronze medal win, some huge player signings for our clubs and a raft of extremely talented Next Stars joining us this coming season.”

Like the NBL, MG is enjoying a period of growth thanks to its growing Australian fan base. It is now a top-ten automotive company in Australia’s incredibly competitive new car market, thanks to vehicles like the award-winning ZST small SUV, the class-leading MG3 hatch and its range of new energy vehicles that includes the ZS EV and HS Plug-In Hybrid.

MG also shares the NBL’s passion for connecting with Australian sports fans, wherever they may be. With more than 20,000 new MG owners already in 2021, the NBL’s domestic strength and reach is a perfect fit with MG’s renewed focus on its Australian customers.

“We value the opportunity to connect with basketball fans across Australia,” Mr Ciao said. “Community connection is very important, and the NBL’s ability to connect to Australian sports fans mirrors our vision to become an integral part of Australian life.

“We are very much looking forward to our partnership with the league and with NBL fans over the coming seasons.”
