The Adelaide 36ers have hit the court to open their NBL24 pre-season.

The Adelaide 36ers are officially back on court for pre-season, and although there are still a number of key roster positions to be signed, veteran guard Mitch McCarron is delighted to get started.

The 31-year-old guard is preparing to play his third season with the club, following his move from Melbourne United, and is set to be joined by a handful of players returning for their second stints at the club.

Isaac Humphries was a member of the club’s roster in McCarron’s first season at the club, before heading to Melbourne United, while Jason Cadee is returning to Adelaide after a decade away.

“[It] looks like we have a bunch of great guys this year,” McCarron told 36ers Media. “It’s great to have ‘Ice’ (Humphries) and Jase (Cadee) back at the club.

“Isaac in in a great state of mind, and Jase has been playing some great basketball lately.

“It’s good to be back. We don’t start on the court until August 1, but it’s good to get the testing done so we are ready to go.

“It’s great to have everyone in the same room again. We’re still waiting on a couple of spots but we’ve got everyone here and working hard – preparing for the season.”

Adelaide recently announced the re-signing of fan favourite NBL19 forward Jacob Wiley to the club, along with the departure of Robert Franks.

On Thursday morning, the 36ers also farewelled star import Antonius Cleveland, released from his contract for an opportunity in Europe.

Coach CJ Bruton now has the opportunity to bring in two new imports ahead of NBL24.

The 36ers will open their season on Friday, September 29 against Cadee’s former side, Brisbane.
