Law to Replicate Draymond Green in Perth

Perth Wildcats star recruit Vic Law is set to mirror a Draymond Green type role this season.
Perth Wildcats star recruit Vic Law is set to mirror a Draymond Green type role this season.
Law has arrived in Perth and hit the training court in Wildcats colours for the first time earlier this week. While speaking to the media, Law revealed coach Scott Morrison envisions him playing a highly versatile, position less role like the one Green excels at for the Golden State Warriors.
“He (Morrison) said he can see me playing kind of like Perth's version of Draymond Green which is super exciting for me,” Law said.
“I've never really been big on what position I play. I played anywhere from the four to the point guard in college, every year was different.
“I got to Brisbane and played a little bit of the wing, played the four, played the five even and that was interesting having to guard guys like Jock Landale and Isaac Humphries.
“There’s only two positions out there - on the court and on the bench. So, you put me on the court, and I'll figure it out.”

Law showcased his adaptability last season while playing for the Bullets as he averaged 18.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.
He now brings that skillset to the Wildcats who will be aiming to make their 36th straight NBL finals appearance this season.
Law has NBA experience having played for the Orlando Magic in 2020 and the 25-year-old Chicago native believes being in Perth will help him get back to the NBA.
"The NBA is very attainable for me," Law said.
"A big reason I may not be there is my health. So, I'm going to keep striving, keep learning, keep trying to soak everything up that I can and what better place to be than the Perth Wildcats, who are the gold standard of Australian basketball.”
