Prominent Australian journalist and presenter Erin Molan has compared the atmosphere at the Sydney Kings’ Semi-Final game two to the biggest events in Australia.

“The atmosphere there rivalled anything I’ve ever done in the past 10 years in some of the biggest sports in Australia,” Molan said on 2DayFM.

The Kings punched their ticket to the NBL Grand Final in front of 9,824 fans at Qudos Bank Arena, and NBL MVP Jaylen Adams called it one of the loudest games he has played in.

“It was a crazy feeling,” Adams said.

“It's the loudest I've heard the gym since I've been here. It shows the power of the fans and this community.

“We can really rally behind them when they show up like that and they’re loud. It was a pleasure to be out there playing in that type of environment.”

Adams was the star for Sydney, scoring 29 points and hitting the game-sealing three-pointer with one minute left.

The Kings’ 99-87 win over the Illawarra Hawks completed a series sweep of its New South Wales rivals, and secured Sydney’s seventh Grand Final appearance in club history.

Before the game Adams was presented with his MVP trophy, and in the final minute, the crowd lauded the 25-year-old with MVP chants.

The love from the supporters is a memory Adams will forever cherish.

“That was crazy. I was trying to hold back a smile and just make the free throws,” Adams said of the MVP chants.

“I have never experienced anything like that. The fans, the love, that was crazy. I'm never gonna forget that moment.”
