Homecoming a “dream” for Jackson

Australia’s greatest ever basketballer Lauren Jackson will be playing NBL1 this season, signing with her hometown club the Albury Wodonga Bandits, and she says it is a “dream come true”.

“When I played in America and Europe, overseas living the dream, there were times when I just wished I played for Albury at home so it’s a bit of a dream come true. My kids are my life and a huge motivation for me. As much as I’m doing it for them, I’m doing it for myself, I’d love to get back on the court and shoot some hoops,” Jackson said via Newscorp.

Wildcats don't condone Hodgson incident

The Perth Wildcats have made a statement on Matt Hodgson shoving Dejan Vasiljevic on Sunday. Hodgson has been referred to the tribunal.

"The Perth Wildcats pride itself on integrity and character and do not condone the actions that occurred during Sunday’s contest," the Wildcats said.

Hawks not underestimating Breakers 

Illawarra Hawks captain AJ Ogilvy says the club isn’t underestimating the New Zealand Breakers ahead of tonight’s clash.

“New Zealand are a proud team so we know they're going to come out with a lot of fight. We definitely can't underestimate them,” Ogilvy told the Illawarra Mercury.

McVeigh to be more aggressive

Tasmania JackJumpers forward Jack McVeigh is set to be more aggressive on the court, at the request of his coaches.

“I definitely want to be more aggressive, that’s what the coaching staff want from me – creating action for the team whether that’s screens or attacking the offensive glass,” McVeigh said via The Mercury.

Could Ingles be NBL bound?

Hawks coach Brian Goorjian says he wouldn’t be surprised if Australian basketball superstar Joe Ingles ends his career in the NBL.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that he’d come back. He loves the competition, he loves Australia. I always had that feeling that at the end of his career, he would play a few (seasons) in the NBL,” Goorjian said via SEN.
