McCall on NBA radar

Cairns Taipans star guard Tahjere McCall is “as desirable as any import in the league from an NBA perspective” according to Newscorp’s Matt Logue.

Phoenix face “less than ideal” situation

South East Melbourne Phoenix coach Simon Mitchell has admitted not playing a game since December 18 is a “less than ideal” situation as they prepare for Saturday’s scheduled clash with the Cairns Taipans.

“We are preparing for our third opponent and still licking our wounds from the Kings game. We’ve got exactly what we didn’t want, but it’s what we’ve got.” Mitchell said via The Age.

Deng given green light

In form Taipan Majok Deng has been given the green light on offence by coach Adam Forde.

“We’re riding that momentum at the moment, his confidence is high and we want to try and get him the ball,” Forde said via The Cairns Post.

Agada ignores critics

Melbourne United import Caleb Agada says he “never really paid attention to anybody questioning me” earlier in the season, as the Nigerian has hit form with the champions.
