NBL Oz Gaming is in a prime position to make history.

NBL Oz Gaming’s fairytale debut season has continued, with the team preparing for a blockbuster Eastern Conference Finals battle with Knicks Gaming on Saturday morning AEST.

Despite pundits and experts suggesting NBL Oz Gaming would be one of the worst teams in the league, the squad has proven the doubters wrong and qualified in the final four of the 5v5 playoffs.

It means NBL Oz Gaming is in a prime position to make history as the first ever expansion team to win the NBA 2K League Championship.

Led by Melbourne guard Harry ‘HarryVZN’ Spierings, NBL Oz Gaming have been one of the league’s strongest and most consistent teams.

Gerald ‘Sick One’ Knapp, ‘Jyden’ McBath-Spencer, Frederick ‘DJayTooCold’ Payton, and Lawrence 'Lawrich' Mayberry round out the team that has developed an unbreakable connection throughout the campaign.

With a top four finish locked in, each player will take home at least $18k AUD prize money.

Should NBL Oz Gaming win tomorrow, the team goes into the Championship Game with over $300k AUD for the team who finishes second (over $45k AUD per player) and over $760k AUD for the winning team (over $114k AUD per player).

Tip-off between NBL Oz Gaming and the Knicks is 7:15am AEST tomorrow live on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch channel.
