Matthew Johns has re-signed with the Brisbane Bullets on a one-year development player contract.

The Brisbane Bullets have re-signed development player Matthew Johns to a one-year extension, after the athletic forward appeared in eight games for the side in NBL23.

Johns has represented the Brisbane Capitals in NBL1 North this off-season, averaging 5.9 points across 19 appearances, after representing Geelong in NBL1 South the season prior.

He arrived back in Australia ahead of his debut professional campaign last season, following a four-year collegiate career at South Dakota and Concordia St Paul.

"Matt is an athlete with tremendous upside and the versatility he offers our squad is exactly what we need," head coach Justin Schueller said.

"His daily habits and his accountability will see him achieve what he wants while helping us be a better program."

"This is where I want to be, and especially now with Justin as head coach, I'm very happy to be back," Johns added.

"With it being my second year in an NBL environment, I know what to expect day to day and how to get the most out of NBL24.

"Having had Justin as a coach before, I know how much he has to offer my development alongside Vandy and DMac (assistant coaches Greg Vanderjagt and Darryl McDonald)."

Johns has joined Aron Baynes, Nathan Sobey, Tyrell Harrison, DJ Mitchell, Chris Smith, Shannon Scott, Isaac White, Sam McDaniel, Josh Bannan, Mitch Norton, Gabe Hadley and Next Star Rocco Zikarsky on the Bullets' roster for the upcoming season.
